# Raíces del Canal

> Raíces del Canal works alongside Latino youth and families in San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood through after-school learning, community gardens, cultural connection, and shared community care.

Maite Durán and Yavar Amidi are the co-founders. Programs include tutoring, art, sewing, environmental learning, garden work, and family gatherings. Mingas take place on the second Saturday of each month; check the event page or ask the team for the meeting point and time. Green Fest is a community gathering with student exhibits and activities.
